 about us.

We are a non-denominational Christian Church founded in 1948 by Rev. Edythe Dickson.  Miss Dickson as well as another God-fearing woman, Rev. Jeanette Simpson, saw the pressing need to reach the children in the coal mining town of Lawrence, which was then known as Hill Station. As God blessed their work, a church was established and has continued to grow by His grace.  Rev. Jim O'Brien is the church's current pastor and is only the second one since the church's founding.  The church is committed to teaching biblical truth and helping believers grow in their faith.

WHAT WE BELIEVE.

1. The Holy Bible is God's Inspired Word.

2. There is one God, who is infinitely perfect existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

3. Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was crucified for man's sin, rose again for our justification, and is seated at God's right hand.

4. Man was created good and upright but through disobedience, incurred physical and spiritual death (separation from God).

5. Man's hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is received through redemption toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ.

6. The Holy Spirit is a divine person sent to indwell, guide, teach and empower the believer and to convict the world of sin and righteousness. Baptism in the Spirit is a filling to the Holy Spirit for life and power.

7. Sanctification is the ongoing process of being set apart for God as we daily identify ourselves with Christ in His death and resurrection.

8. The Church is the outward expression of the body of Christ and has been commissioned by Christ to share the Gospel (good news) with the whole world.

9. There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust; for the former, a resurrection to life, for the latter, a resurrection to judgment.

10. The Second Coming of the Lord Jesus is the believer's hope and encourages us to holy living and faithful service.
